Japanese paintings on display in Hanoi
Works by Japanese illustrator
Iwasaki Chihiro are being exhibited at the Japanese Cultural Exchange Centre on
27 Quang Trung street, Hanoi from April 28 to May 22.
Iwasaki Chihiro is a well-known Japanese painter who, in her life time, won many
domestic and international prizes for her drawings of children. In 1997, the
Chihiro Art Museum was built in Tokyo to honour her contributions and artistic
achievements.
In 2005, the Museum, in cooperation with the Vietnam Women’s Union held an
exhibition of 80 paintings chosen from her 9,350 works of art.
This year’s exhibition of her works is expected to treat the public to an art
space dedicated to children with a message of peace and happiness for children
all over the world.
