TransViet sponsors survey-visits for int’l tourism officials to Vietnam
A group of representatives
from 7 Austrian tourist companies and Thai Airways arrived in Hanoi on May 12th
starting a one-week survey on Vietnam’s tourism potentials.
The visit is organized and sponsored by TransViet, a Vietnamese tourist company,
in coordination with Thai Airways and Accor group.
In an effort to attract more international tourists to Vietnam, the company with
the support from the Vietnam Tourism General Department has launched a tourist
promotion program under which it sponsors international tourist companies’
surveying and evaluation visits to Vietnam.
During the visits, international tourism officials will be introduced to tourist
facilities and services at various Vietnamese localities, especially in Hanoi,
Ha Long, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
The company’s Director, Nguyen Manh Cuong said that such visits will help
international tourism officials learn more about Vietnamese tourist products and
then they will encourage tourists to go to Vietnam, instead of other countries.
He also added that this is seen as an effective tourist promotion form,
especially during the current global economic recession.
Reportedly, after this survey-visit, the company will continue to organize more
trips of a related nature. Particularly, a visit by German tourism officials
will be held in June 2009.
