New executive chef at Park Hyatt Saigon
Park Hyatt Saigon welcomes
Asif Mehrudeen, as the new Executive Chef who takes over the helm from
Massimiliano Ziano who moves to Grand Hyatt Shanghai. In his new role, he
oversees the operation of all food outlets at the hotel, the restaurants,
including Park Lounge.
Chef Asif was most recently with Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa in India as
Executive Chef. Prior to that, he was with Michelin star restaurant, Ku De Ta,
in Bali for four years, guiding a strong team of 60 chefs. While in Bali, he
encouraged the formation of a dynamic team and maintained the restaurant’s
growth, profitability and popularity throughout the island.
His passion for food and wine had inspired Chef Asif to travel for a year
throughout Italy and Greece, living and learning traditional recipes in country
homes. He brought back with him a colourful culinary experience with an emphasis
on the authentic flavours of the regions.
Chef Asif’s personal interests include travel, food and wine tours, “to work in
Vietnam is a great opportunity for me to travel and learn about the Vietnamese
culture and their food” – Chef Asif said. His culinary preparations use modern,
innovative cooking styles and techniques that create an international-based
cuisine that helps offer a new approach to something he terms “global cuisine”.
