Deputy PM welcomes Secretary General of Buddhist Summit

Khiem on May 20 welcomed the Most Venerable Hiroshi Fujikura, Secretary General
of the World Buddhist Summit, who is on a working visit to prepare for the next
Buddhist Summit in Vietnam.
Deputy PM Khiem said that Vietnam will do its best to assure success of the
sixth World Buddhist Summit scheduled to be held in Vietnam at the end of 2010.
The Deputy PM asked Vietnam’s Buddhist Sangha to cooperate with the World
Buddhist Sangha and prepare thoroughly for the upcoming Summit.
The Most Venerable Hiroshi Fujikura informed Deputy PM Khiem of the result of
the survey for a venue for the 6th Buddhist Summit in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh
Binh and Ha Long Bay.
The Most Venerable thanked Deputy PM Khiem for accepting the proposal that the
summit should be in Hanoi, saying that this will be an opportunity to call for
world peace.
