Outbound tourism promotion sees a boom

      Costs associated with outbound tourism, or travelling to other countries, has been reduced by between 40% to 50%, when compared to last year, which is a record for several months, said some travel representatives.
Specifically, at present, a tourist has to pay only US$238 to visit Thailand for 5 days, US$699 to visit the Republic of Korea for 5 days and just over US$500 to tour Beijing-Shanghai - Hangzhou-Suzhou for 7 days.
According to Nguyen Tien Dat, head of the business department in Transviet Tourism Company in Hanoi, due to the economic decline, Korean Airlines offers discount tickets for flights to the Republic of Korea. Besides, as the Korean currency is losing value, tours to this country are seeing a record price reduction, from US$1,300 last year to US$699 or US$725 this year.
The reduction in tour price encourages more tourists to travel. The number of tourists to the Republic of Korea and China in recent months increased by 30-40%.
“It is the best time to travel. Along with low prices, hotels and restaurants also provide good services to attract more tourists”, assessed Nguyen Tien Dat.
On this occasion, Saigontourist has launched a promotion tour to Thailand at a cost of US$145 (plus US$73 in tax) per person for five days, departing from Ho Chi Minh City with Vietnam Airlines in May.
Also, the Bangkok Air offers a US$165 (plus US$73 tax) tour for 6 days, with a ticket to enjoy the Siam Niramit Arts Festival .
The Hanoi Red Tour has also launched a tour to Hong Kong (China) in June, Hongkong-Disneyland at US$549 a person, Hong Kong-Macao at US$579; overall, an US$80 reduction over last year.
As well, Vietravel offers its biggest promotion for 270 inbound and outbound tours this summer. Thousands of vouchers with face values of between VND 50,000 and VND500,000, together with various gifts will be delivered to tourists.
