Dancing on the waves
The powerful winds and waves
in Mui Ne during this time of year provide ideal conditions for windsurfing and
kitesurfing while vacationing at the renowned resort village in the central
province of Binh Thuan.
The turquoise waters of Mui Ne these days are packed with Vietnamese and foreign
holidaygoers lying on boards awaiting the perfect wave to dance and twist them
to shore.
Kitesurfing is ideal for those who want a large controllable “kite” propelling
them across the water in the style of wave riding, cruising, jumping and
freestyle.
Despite their differences, both sports give riders the unforgettable feeling of
breaking waves and steering with the wind.
Kitesurfing and windsurfing can be hazardous to both participants and bystanders
so it is essential for beginners to take lessons from certified instructors.
Lessons cover various skills such as controlling, standing and sliding on the
board for windsurfing and launching, flying and landing for kitesurfing.
Windsurfing and kitesurfing equipment and lessons are available at Bamboo
Village and other resorts in Mui Ne. Surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing
lessons are priced at US$35, while equipment rental starts at US$3. Additional
fees will apply to windsurfers and kitesurfers who require additional
assistance.
