2009 National Traditional Boat Racing launched in Quang Tri

      More than 300 athletes across the country are taking part in a race on the Thach Han River in the Southern province Quang Tri, to mark the 20 years of the province’s re-establishment and the province’s 200th anniversary on July 1.
The competitors are from 12 teams of 7 provinces and cities such as: An Giang, Binh Thuan, Can Tho, Da Nang, Dong Thap and Kien Giang. They are competing for 6 sets of medals in the 1000 metres, 8 sets of medals in the 500 metres and 8 sets of medals in the 200 metres
The event has been co-organised by the province’s People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
