French artists to perform flute-piano duet in Vietnam
A recital of flute and piano
by two young French artists will take place at the French Cultural Center in
Hanoi (L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street) on June 2 and at the Institute of
Cultural Exchange with France (Idecaf, 28 Le Thanh Ton Street) in HCMC on June
4.
The two artists are flutist Clement Dufour and pianist Tristan Pfaff. They will
play masterpieces of Franz Schubert, Gabriel Faure and Asto Piazzola.
Both artists are at a very young age but have high achievements in the music
field. Clement, born in 1987, and Tristan, born in 1985, have performed on many
international stages with talents such as Philippe Bernold, Shigenori Kudo and
Marc Coppey.
Clement, studying flute at the National Conservatory of Music in Rueil-Malmaison,
won first prize in the European Music Contest in Picardie in 2001, first prize
in the UFAM Contest in 2002, grand prize in the Jean-Pierre Rampal Flute Contest
in Paris in 2005 and first prize in the Delic Program of the CulturesFrance
Organization in 2007.
Tristan, studying piano at Nantes National Conservatory of Music, won second
prize in the Ferrol International Contest in 2008 and has performed in many
music festivals such as the Chopin Festival in l’Orangerie de Bagatelle, The
Auvers-sur-Oise Festival and the Dinard Cote d’Emeraude Festival.
