Flag carrier cuts fares again under tourism campaign
Vietnam Airlines has announced
fare cuts for the second time this year under a national program to stimulate
domestic tourism that will last until the end of September.
Between June 1 and August 31, a round trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and
Vinh will cost VND1.4 million (US$78.8) and from HCMC to Hue and Da Nang, VND1
million ($56.2).
It will be VND1.4 million on the HCMC-Hai Phong and Hanoi-Can Tho sectors,
VND600,000 for HanoiDong Hoi and VND1.55 million for Hanoi-Buon Ma Thuot.
The airline said the fares would fall further in September to VND810,000 for a
round trip from Hanoi and HCMC to Hue and Da Nang.
Tran The Dung, deputy director of Young Generation Travel Company, said tour
operators in HCMC had sold around 3,200 tours to the northern and central
regions in the program’s first stage that started in January.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said more than 100 travel
agencies, hotels and transport operators have joined the “Impressive Vietnam”
campaign to cut prices on 99 tour packages offered to foreign visitors between
January and September.
