Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival

The People’s Committee of Hai Duong province on February 10 opened the Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival and commemorated the 675th anniversary of the death of monk Huyen Quang, the third founder of the Truc Lam meditation sect, at the Con Son – Kiep Bac historical relic site in Chi Linh district.
The festival was prepared with the great care and solemnly held with such activities as the incenses offering ceremony to remember monk Huyen Quang and the water procession ceremony.
It was also held in a jubilant manner with such cultural and sports activities as water puppetry performance, cock-fighting, Chinese chess competition and other folk games.
The Con Son – Kiep Bac historical relic site is coupled with the life and cause of National Hero Tran Quoc Tuan and World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai. This is one of the places where the Truc Lam mediation sect was originated under the Tran dynasty.
* The King Mai Temple Festival has taken place in Van Dieu commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province to remember King Mai, National Hero and hold the 1,287th anniversary of Mai Thuc Loan’s uprising. Over 20,000 people joined the festival.
* On February 10, the Festival ‘Pray for Happiness’ at Doc Cuoc Temple opened at Sam Son town, Thanh Hoa province.
* The People’s Committee of Trung Thanh commnue (Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province) has held the Buffalo-Fighting Festival.
