Contest on Uncle Ho receives warm response overseas
A
writing contest on the exemplary morality of President Ho Chi Minh has
attracted the participation of many overseas Vietnamese and foreigners.
The contest is part of a wide-scale campaign on “Learning and following
the exemplary morality of President Ho Chi Minh” which was launched in
2007.
The Vietnamese community in Cambodia submitted 29 works of
prose, six poems and 20 songs. They also collected many stories about
the time Ho Chi Minh spent in Thailand .
In Bulgaria, to celebrate
50 th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the country (August 1958),
the Vietnamese community compiled two books entitled “Uncle Ho in the
country of roses”. The books comprise 51 photos, 141 pages of documents
in Bulgarian and French languages, six memoirs and 18 articles. All the
original documents and photos were presented to the Hanoi-based Ho Chi
Minh Museum.
In the Republic of Korea, a calligraphy contest and an
exhibition on the theme of Ho Chi Minh poem collection “Ho Chi Minh’s
Diary in Prison” were held.
Outstanding individuals and
organisations in the campaign in Euroope, Asia-Pacific and Latin
America will be honoured at a conference later this month. Five of them
will represent the overseas community at the national conference in
Hanoi on Feb.3, 2010.
