Thanh Chuong residence to host great events
Seven cultural events of the
1000th Thang Long-Hanoi anniversary will be organised at the residence of famous
painter Thanh Chuong in Soc Son district, Hanoi, in 2010.
Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and Party Chief of Hanoi, and Ministry of
Culture, Sports and Tourism officials on June 8 paid a visit to the residence of
Thanh Chuong, which is known as Viet Phu Thanh Chuong. This was a field trip to
prepare for the 1000th Thang Long-Hanoi grand ceremony in 2010.
Nghi said that Viet Phu Thanh Chuong is an outstanding model of cultural
socialisation. The owner of the site is an artist who has a passion for
preserving and honouring Vietnamese traditional culture. The site will be a key
point in the 1000th Thang Long-Hanoi anniversary.
Painter Thanh Chuong began the construction of his residence in October 2001 to
gather and preserve the cream of architecture, sculpture, and application arts
of ancient Vietnamese and to display his own large-sized paintings.
So far, over 20 works have been completed on 10,000 sq.m. The site has become a
popular destination of tourists visiting Hanoi.
Viet Phu Thanh Chuong will host seven cultural-art events from July to October
2010 to celebrate the 1000th Thang Long-Hanoi anniversary.
