Hoe Nhai pagoda and Quan Thanh temple restored

Dinh district, Hanoi started the restoration of Hoe Nhai Pagoda and the Temple
of Quan Thanh today.
Hoe Nhai Pagoda (another name is Hong Phuc Pagoda) was built in the early 11th
century. This war-torn pagoda was restored in the late 17th century.
Numerous precious objects of historical and artistic value, such as a lotus
shaped pottery estrade from the 16th century, a statue of a Buddha sitting on a
kneeing King’s back, a bell dated 1889, and other revolutionary relics are being
kept at the Hoe Nhai Pagoda.
The Temple of Quan Thanh is among the rare and important historical relics of
both architecture and artistic values.
As planned, the Hoe Nhai Pagoda will be restored in 265 days at the cost of more
than VND 14.7 billion while the restoration of the Temple of Quan Thanh will
take 210 days with the investment of nearly VND 11.5 billion.
