Cultural and Tourist Environment Week kicks off in Ba Ria-Vung Tau

      A ceremony to mobilise the Cultural and Tourist Environment Week 2009 was held on the morning of June 28th in Vung Tau city and Long Dinh District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
Ba Ria-Vung Tau is the locality chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to launch a pilot programme named “Establishment of systems to inform, educate and improve public environmental awareness for nationwide central and local agencies, organisations and businesses within the culture, sports and tourism sector in 2009.
After the ceremony, Vung Tau city and Long Dien district mobilised thousands of public workers and students from schools and universities to clean local tourist resorts, business places and beaches.
During the week, there will also be various activities, including music and art performances, picture displays with the topic of environmental protection and walks for a better living environment and public health.
In addition, local tourism businesses are urged to upgrade their liquid wastes processing systems and plant more trees.
