2009 Mekong Tour Cycling Race to open

      The 2009 Mekong Tour Cycling Race will take place from October 11th to 25th.
Besides 7 male teams from Vietnam, the race also attracts excellent cycling teams from Yunnan (China), Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Cyclists will depart from Hanoi to Nghe An (Vietnam), Khonkhen (Thailand), Xavanakhet (Laos), Quang Tri, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh (Vietnam), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and finish in Can Tho (Vietnam).
Attentively, during the race, the participants will be transported by air for some routes.
This race, jointly organized by the The gioi & Vietnam newspaper and the Vietnam Sports Motor-Bike Federation, is aimed at raising the awareness of the necessity of the Mekong river’s water source protection.
