Hau Giang holds first Rice Festival in Vietnam

      Hau Giang province will coordinate with the Vietnam Food Association, Vietnam Southern Food Corporation and relevant government agencies to organize the first Rice Festival in Vietnam.
The 2009 Rice Festival is scheduled to take place on November 26-28 in Vi Thanh commune, Hau Giang province.
The event aims to honour and increase the profile of Vietnam’s rice and promote it as a high-quality trademark on the world market and also to encourage production and exports, contribute to socio-economic development and raise the living standards of people.
The festival will focus on fairs to introduce products, seminars, exhibitions and a rice trading floor to create favourable conditions for businesses to purchase and export rice.
