Several Dong Son artefacts unearthed in Lao Cai
Several artefacts from the
Dong Son culture, which existed about 2,000-2,500 years ago, have been unearthed
in Bao Yen district-in the northern, mountainous province of Lao Cai-since April
this year.
Among the objects, four stone axes were from the Dong Son civilization,
according to the museum’s director Do Chung.
Decorated roof tiles, unearthed in the Nghi Lang ancient citadel area in Pho
Rang town, were from the Le-Mac dynasty in the 17th-18th century.
The antiques were discovered by local residents during site clearance for the
construction of houses and other projects.
They are now on display at the provincial museum.
