Project on HCM City Arts Museum debuts
The Ho Chi Minh City Municipal
Committee has just accepted a project to upgrade and build the city’s Arts
Museum at 97, Pho Duc Chinh road.
The committee also assigned the Municipal Culture, Sports and Tourism Department
and the investment manager, in cooperation with the Architecture and Projection
Department, to draw up detailed plans for the construction site of 95,000 square
meters.
The current Ho Chi Minh City Arts Museum has just 3 older buildings and they
will be upgraded under the project to function as administrative offices and
stores.
A new, large, modern accommodation for exhibits will be built; but officials
indicated that the new one should be designed in harmony with the old buildings.
According to officials, the site will be cleared for construction by October
2009 and the construction will officially be implemented immediately afterwards.
