Mon Beach, Dien Cape recognised
Mon Beach and Dien Cape in the
southern province of Phu Yen have been nationally recognised for their beauty
and historical interest.
Thirty five kilometres from Tuy Hoa city, it is the first place the sun’s rays
hit Viet Nam’s mainland each day.
The French built a lighthouse at Dien Cape in 1890 to help lead ships into Vung
Ro Bay. It is one of eight lighthouses in the country more than 100 years old.
Next to Dien Cape, Mon Beach is a beautiful strip of sand more than 400m in
length.
Dien Cape and Mon Beach are near Da Bia Mountain and Vung Ro Bay, which have
also been put on a national list recognising their natural beauty.
