Another tunnel discovered in Phu Yen
An estimated 100m-long tunnel
has been discovered in an area of the Hon Trung mountain in Ky Du village, Xuan
Quang 2 commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province.
The tunnel is approximately 1.9m tall and 1m wide, with one entrance and three
exit gates.
Inside the tunnel, there are three square areas that are about 12 s.q.m each.
Tran Ngoc Que, a former revolutionary official living in Xuan Quang 2 commune,
said that the tunnel, operated and manned by Unit 13 Ngo Quyen, was a secret
signal station during the revolutionary war against the American imperialists.
The tunnel is the second located in Phu Yen province. The first, named Go Thi
Thung in An Xuan commune, Tuy An district, was recognized as a national
historical relic this May.
