Phu Quoc to be developed as an economic and eco-tourist hub
The Prime Minister has just
approved a revised general master plan on Phu Quoc island through to 2030 with a
vision beyond 2030.
Under the master plan, Phu Quoc will become a large urban area with tourist
sites at an international level.
The plan will develop the island into 3 urban towns to be located along the
island’s North-South axis. The town of Duong Dong will be the center with An
Thoi and Ham Ninh to the immediate West and East.
Meanwhile, a number of tourist sites such as Da Chong, Bai Truong, Ho Suoi Lon
and Cua Can beach will be linked to the towns.
To support traveling, an international seaport nearby An Thoi town will also be
built.
If everything is done in accordance with the master plan, Phu Quoc will become
an economic and eco-tourist hub with special administrative status and a
national bio-diversity sanctuary in 2030.
