Chronicles of Vietnamese pagodas are filmed
A number of beautiful
Vietnamese pagodas will be shown on Vietnam Cable Television in the near future
as the chronicles, “The Itinerary of Vietnamese pagodas”, are being filmed.
The 50-episode chronicles are the first of its kind on Vietnamese pagodas, with
an objective of helping preserve cultural heritages and promote tourism.
Each 20-to-30 minute episode will feature the most typical characteristics of
the featured pagoda, including their specific locations in a village, near
border areas, or in bustling districts of big cities across Vietnam.
Legends, architecture and spiritual factors, associated with these pagodas, will
be analysed and narrated with a scientific and historical angle.
The chronicles, jointly made by the Relic Preservation Institute, the
Popularization and Education Center of the Hanoi Municipal Committee, the
Buddhist Research Institute and the Center for Supporting and Developing
Talents, is part of the Relic Mapping Project to celebrate the 1,000th founding
anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The first episode is expected to be broadcast on VTC1 in the third quarter of
this year.
