Ancient city opens relics at night
The authorities of Hoi An city
in the central province of Quang Nam have allowed relics located in the old
quarter to open at night for tourists.
Since 1995, Hoi An has sold packaged tickets to tourists. Each ticket has five
squares for five types of relics, namely: the system of museums, the system of
clubs, the system of old houses, Chua Cau relic and intangible cultural forms.
On average, around 200,000 tickets are sold per year, at VND75000/ticket for
foreign tourists and VND30000/ticket for Vietnamese tourists. Last year Hoi An
earned 20 billion dong from tickets and 75 percent of the money is to be
reinvested in relics.
