Nearly 80 cultural activities to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi

      The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document to assign departments, institutes and museums under the ministry to organize activities to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
Accordingly, nearly 80 cultural and art programmes, and seminars related to the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi will be held. There will be the professional dance and singing performance, the international children’s stage festival, the international water puppetry festival, the international circus festival, the Miss World contest, and a special art performance to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
These activities will be carried out from December 31st 2009 to the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi (October 10th).
The activities will be associated with great festivals of the nation such as the Lunar New Year, the 80th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 35th anniversary of the southern liberation, the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 62nd anniversary of the August revolution and the National Independence Day.
