Cow market-day on stone plateau
As most of the natural area on
the stone plateau of the northern mountainous Ha Giang province is rocky
mountain, local ethnic minority people earn most of their income from animal
husbandry, especially the breeding of cows.
The number of cows on sale at market-days is on the rise. Local people come here
to buy calves to raise and bring them back to market-days for sale. Both cows
raised for food and for field work are sold at the markets.
The Meo Vac, Dong Van and Sa Phin market-days have become very famous for their
uniqueness as markets and also sites for cultural exchange of ethnic minority
groups.
