One more mighty film project for Thang Long – Hanoi
While US$2.6 million “Royal
Chancellor Tran Thu Do” TV series project is attracting the public for its
change of leading actresses, another big screen film project to celebrate the
1000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary has been unveiled, at a cost of 60 billion
dong (US$3.3 million).
This is “Chieu Doi Do” (Edict on the Transfer of the Capital), a large-screen
movie about King Ly Cong Uan. This film is scheduled to be released on August
19, 2010.
According to the 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi Committee’s Nguyen Trong Tuan, the
shooting pace of “Royal Chancellor Tran Thu Do” will be extended and the film
will be introduced after October 10, 2010. Perhaps “Chieu Doi Do” will replace
“Royal Chancellor Tran Thu Do” to become the major movie for 1000th Thang Long –
Hanoi anniversary.
Director of the Vietnam Movies Association Film Studio, script editor Nguyen Thi
Hong Ngat, who is the production manager and script editor of Chieu Doi Do,
revealed that this project will not use funds from the state budget like “Royal
Chancellor Tran Thu Do”. The producer has called for investment from businesses.
According to Ngat, the first scenes will be shot in February 2010 and the movie
will come out in August or September 2010. Casting will be organised in August
and the names of actors will be finalised in October 2009.
“The movie will meet international technical standards. We have never produced
any big historical large-screen movie like this,” Ngat told VietNamNet.
“Chieu Doi Do” will be directed by famous director Luu Trong Ninh, script
written by Trieu Tuan.
