Building symbolic districts of culture, sports and tourism for ethnic-inhabited areas
The Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism has held a seminar in the Central Highlands province of Dak
Lak, on building symbolic district of culture, sports and tourism for ethnic-in
habited areas.
The seminar drew the participation of seven localities that are carrying out the
project on building symbolic district of culture, sports and tourism for
ethnic-in habited areas, including Quy Hop district in the central province of
Nghe An, Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang, Krong Pak in
the Central Highlands of Dak Lak, Tra Cu in the southern province of Tra Vinh,
Nghia Lo in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, Bac Quang in the
northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, and Van Lang in the northern
mountainous province of Lang Son.
During the implementation of the project, districts have made progress in
socio-economy and the movement to unite all people to build a cultural
lifestyle. Especially, 75% of households in Krong Pak district were recognized
as cultural families. 13 out of 16 communes and towns in the district registered
for cultural units.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh asked seven provinces
that have seven symbolic districts to overcome difficulties and try to complete
objectives of the project. The ministry will review the project in 2010.
