Nearly 3000 tourists view exhibition of Vietnam’s ancient potteries
According to the central Thua
Thien – Hue provincial museum of revolutionary history and the UNESCO Center for
the preservation of Vietnam’s antiques, the exhibition about Vietnam’s ancient
potteries through centuries drew the attraction of 3000 tourists. One third of
them are foreigners.
This is a significant activity to bring national cultural heritage to lovers for
arts.
Objects displayed at the exhibition were selected from famous potteries from the
prehistory to dynasties of the Cham, Ly, Tran, Le, Mac, Nguyen, and the 20th
centuries.
The exhibition closed on July 24th. On this occasion, the UNESCO Center for the
preservation of Vietnam’s antiques presented the Thua Thien – Hue museum of
revolutionary history rare antiques belonging to the Dong Son culture such as
bronze drums and basins, and paper currency.
It can be said that this was the biggest exhibition on Vietnam’s ancient
pottery, as objects included Chu Dau and Oc Eo potteries to Bat Trang displays,
said Ho Tan Phan, a researcher and collector of pottery and ceramics in Hue
city.
