1000th Thang Long – Hanoi flag to fly on Fansipan
Lao Cai province and the
Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will launch a special tour for
foreign visitors called “Pitching the 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi flag on the peak
of Fansipan” in early October 2010.
Lao Cai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s director Tran Huu Son said
that this special tour will be organised to celebrate the 1000th Thang Long –
Hanoi anniversary. Fansipan, 3143m, is the highest peak in Indochina.
Lao Cai province’s chairman Nguyen Huu Van said that Lao Cai will try its best
to organise successful festivals in 2010 to celebrate the 1000th Thang Long –
Hanoi anniversary. Van said this is a chance to promote Lao Cai’s tourism.
The 1000th Thang Long – Hanoi flag marching and pitching ceremony is one of the
ten key activities of the culture, sports and tourism sector to honour the
1000th Thang Long – Hanoi anniversary.
This will be the first time the Vietnamese flag and the flag of a national
festival will fly on the peak of Fansipan, Van said.
