Vietnam’s longest suspension bridge at night
When night falls, Thuan Phuoc,
the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam, crossing the Han River in the central
city of Da Nang, surprises visitors with its magnificent beauty.
Some visitors have likened the bridge to a fire dragon at night, and compared it
to the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, US.
After six years of construction, the over 2km-long Thuan Phuoc Bridge crossing
the Han River opened for traffic in the central city of Da Nang on July 19.
The construction of the three-span, cable-stayed Thuan Phuoc Bridge began in
2003.
The four-lane bridge is at 1,850 meters long and 18 meters wide. It spans the
Han River, linking the Nguyen Tat Thanh road and Son Tra – Dien Ngoc road.
Thuan Phuoc Bridge connects an important transport route, linking the Hai Van
tunnel, Da Nang Port and the Son Tra-Dien Ngoc coastal road to the ancient city
of Hoi An.
Its two major pillars are 80m in height. Construction started in January 2003.
Thuan Phuoc is the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam, with total investment
of nearly 1 trillion dong.
Let’s admire its beauty in the evening.
