Air route between Hanoi and Chu Lai to be opened

An agreement to open an air route between Ha Noi and the Chu Lai Economic Zone has been signed between leaders of Hanoi and Quang Nam.
The agreement was reached during a working visit to Quang Ngai, made by Chief of the Hanoi Party Municipal Committee Pham Quang Nghi, from July 3rd to August 2nd.
The opening of the air route will lay favourable foundations for development and cooperation between the 2 localities; in part promotes economic development of the economic zone, and meets the need to expand air operation at Chu Lai airport, according to Quang Nam top officials.
The time to open the new air route will be decided by Quang Nam province in collaboration with carriers. But sources affirmed that the first direct flight will be started by the end of 2009.
At this point, there are 3 flights a week between Chu Lai and Ho Chi Minh City.
