National Tourism Year Announcement

The Hanoi People's Committee recently arranged a meeting in Hanoi to hear from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Hanoi Party Propaganda Committee, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and tour operators regarding the announcement of the 2010 National Tourism Year under the theme, "Thang Long-Hanoi, the 1,000-Year Convergence".
Most of the participants wanted to announce the event on the day of the 999th year of Thang Long - Hanoi.
National Tourism Year will include 16 events: 1) the announcement ceremony on October 3, 2) tourist service improvements to be made from July-October 2010, 3) the 'Hanoians Welcome You to Their Home' and 'Hanoi Green Tourism Year' events, 4) a street flower festival, 5) a Hanoi tour guide contest, 6) several tourist projects such as Bat Trang Tourist Port, 7) the 2010 Thang Long-Hanoi International Tourist Festival, 8) acknowledging standard tourist facilities, 9) a Hanoi Food Festival, 10) a 'Bat Trang Pottery: Tradition and Modernity' exhibit, 11) kite flying festivals across the country and more.
