Hoi An opens relics at night to meet tourists demand
The People’s Committee of Hoi
An City in Quang Nam Province has agreed to open a number of relics in the
ancient town at night to meet the demand of tourists. Since 1995, Hoi An City
has applied packaged tickets for tourists. Each ticket features five squares for
five types of relic systems: museums, clubs, old houses, Chua Cau relics and
various intangible cultural forms such as traditional art performances and
handicrafts.
More than 200,000 tickets have been sold annually. In 2008, ticket sales reached
VND20 billion, including 75 percent earmarked on restoring relics.
