Jetstar, Accor launch joint program to woo local travelers

Accor hotels and Jetstar Asia Airways have jointly launched a program to provide travelers free flights and accommodation in order to attract more guests from Vietnam and other Asian markets.
Accor Group said in a statement sent to the Daily that they were offering bargain hunters the opportunity to fly on Jetstar, stay in one of Accor’s city hotels, take a ride on the Singapore Flyer observation wheel and shop at the Changi Airport for free.
Jetstar passengers will get the second night’s stay for free at the participating Accor properties: the new ibis Singapore on Bencoolen, the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel or the Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay for every paid one-night stay when booking at www.accorhotels-asia.com/partners/jetstar.
The program applies to customers in Ho Chi Minh City and other regional cities who book Jetstar at www.jetstar.com/specials/1for1 or Valuair flights to Singapore from August 3 to 11 for travel between October 1 and November 25. They will get a free return flight in addition to free hotel accommodation.
Jetstar passengers will need to present the boarding pass during check-in to redeem the free hotel night stay at one of the Accor hotels in the island country. The airline now flies daily between HCMC and Singapore.
By presenting the Jetstar boarding pass, the participating passengers will also be able to take a free ride on the Singapore Flyer and receive vouchers to shop at the Changi Airport on the way home from their holiday in the island country.
In June, similar packages were launched as part of Jetstar’s collaboration with Accor Hotels, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to attract Asian travelers to Singapore.
The fresh move is expected to help Jetstar and Accor hotels increase bookings at a time when the global tourism industry is hit hard by the global economic slump and the outbreak of influenza A (H1N1).
