Nationwide professional singing and dancing performance festival to open

The first 2009 Nationwide Professional Singing and Dancing Performance Festival will take place from August 15th to 20th, said the Department of Performance Art under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, at a press conference held yesterday in Vinh city, Nghe An province.
17 art troupes from all regions across Vietnam will participate in this event.
Reportedly, performances will focus on featuring humanism, the national tradition of revolutionary struggle, and a response to the “Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example” campaign.
The programme is part of the main activities of the performance art sector towards the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and big events to be held in 2009 and 2010.
