Thousand-year-old tombs discovered in Quang Tri
Thousand-year-old tombs discovered in Quang Tri
Two coffins estimated to
be 1,000 years old were discovered recently in the central province of Quang Tri
’s Gio Linh district.
Made from 2m tree trunks, the coffins contain bones along with some coins and
terracotta jars and dishes.
An official from the Quang Tri Museum said the tombs are possibly buried in the
11th century and the remains may belong to people of the Kinh ethnic group. The
museum will retain the materials for further research.
