Mai Linh Corp. on Wednesday
inaugurated its roadside station on National Road 1A’s section passing Cai Be
District in the Mekong Delta’s Tien Giang Province.
The two-story facility worth over VND30 billion and covering four hectares
includes a 1,000-seat restaurant, a rest-room section, a gas filling station and
a free car washing area.
Other facilities including a car maintenance workshop, ATMs and an ecological
area will be added to the station later on.
The facility is set up not only to serve passengers taking Mai Linh Express
transport service but also for any travelers who want to take a break there any
time as long as they like.
Passers-by can refresh themselves with food and beverage available at the
restaurant and other specialties of the Mekong Delta right there.
The station has served about 3,000 guests daily since its trial run in April
this year.
Mai Linh-Cai Be Roadside Station is the third of its kind being operational and
one of the 106 of its kind with a combined investment of US$192 million from the
corporation to be opened along National Road 1A and Ho Chi Minh Road in the
future.
The corporation in this year will finish the construction work of three roadside
stations of Lao Bao, Dong Hoi and Ky Anh in the provinces of Lam Dong, Quang
Binh, and Ha Tinh respectively. Ca Na Station in Ninh Thuan Province was opened
last month.
Mai Linh Corp. is planning to complete 53 such facilities along national roads
nationwide and at border gates in northern and central regions, one in Laos and
another in Cambodia from now to 2012. The remaining 53 stations will be done in
2012-2015.
