Photos of Long Bien bridge exhibited

Douglas Jardine, an American photographer and art expert, will showcase his photos of the Long Bien bridge at the Maison Des Arts Gallery, 31A Van Mieu, Hanoi on August 21st.
The display will feature 20 black and white photographs carefully selected from more than 1,000 photos taken by Douglas Jardine over the past two years.
Douglas Jardine’s photos are of a diversity of topics, aiming to honour the beauty of Long Bien bridge in daily life.
Douglas Jardine, born in 1962, started doing research on the Long Bien bridge in 2006. He said that the Long Bien bridge was a point of convergence of social changes in Vietnam. It was a link between the past and the present, between the present and the future, and between poverty and prosperity, victory and tragedy.
