Vietnam promotes tourism in China
A delegation of officials from the
Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 17 businesses began their
tour of four major cities in China on August 25.
This 6-day promotional visit to Shanghai, Henan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen will
include meetings with the China National Tourism Administration and Chinese
travel agencies, a seminar on marketing Vietnam tourism and a stop at the annual
China International Travel Mart in Kunming.
China is Vietnam’s largest tourism market, but there are aurrently only 6
Vietnamese businesses allowed to receive Chinese sea travellers from Beihai
(China) to Quang Ninh (Vietnam).
The number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam has decreased steadily in recent
years. In the first 7 months of 2009, numbers fell by 40 percent against the
same period last year. One of main reasons is that Chinese people aren’t
receiving information about Vietnam tourism.
