Number of tourists to Phu Quoc Island increased by 27 percent

The Phu Quoc Island is attracting more and more foreign and domestic tourists. The number of tourist arrivals estimated 18,000 in August, including 2,500 foreign tourist arrivals, which, compared to the previous month, increased by 90 percent and 82.73 percent, respectively.
In the eight months this year, more than 162,850 tourists visited Phu Quoc Island, an increase of 27.12 percent compared to the same period last year; including 39,603 foreign tourists, an increase of 14.96 percent compared to the same period last year.
Although the circumstances of both the international and domestic economy facing difficulties because of impacts from the global economic slowdown, the number of tourists to the Phu Quoc Island has still increased, showing it as an attractive destination to foreign and domestic travelers.
