Viking Travel launches motorcycle tour to Thailand
Saigontourist welcomes 1,250 cruise passengers
The HCMC-based Viking Travel and Media Company on Wednesday kick-started a
motorcycle tour of 17 Harley bikes for Vietnamese and foreign tourists from HCMC
to Thailand.
Tran Xuan Hung, director of the company, told the Daily that 21 Vietnamese in
HCMC and five foreigners living and working in Thailand were joining the six-day
tour. The travelers from Thailand had earlier arrived in Vietnam on August 31.
The travelers will go to Bangkok and Pattaya and meet with representatives of
the Harley Club there. However, their itinerary will also take in some
destinations in the local soil.
“The travelers are also surveying some destinations in Vietnam to prepare for
one more motorcycle tour late this year,” Hung said, adding the next trip would
take place in October, taking take travelers to Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and
Thailand.
The company will also receive one more group of riders from Cambodia to Vietnam
in December.
* Saigontourist Travel Service Company on Wednesday welcomed to the city around
1,250 tourists and crew members on board the Costa Allegra cruise ship, who then
joined a city tour and a tour to the Mekong Delta city of My Tho for some hours.
The ship then left the city in the afternoon for Singapore.
The cruise ship had also made port calls in the northern province of Quang Ninh
and the central city of Danang from August 30.
The tour operator reported that the Costa Allegra cruise ship would visit
Vietnam next Monday and on September 21 to take visitors to HCMC and Danang.
“We will receive more than 3,000 cruise passengers from the cruise ship’s next
two trips,” Saigontourist said in its press release.
