Korean culture on display in Hanoi
The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in collaboration
with the Korean Culture Heritage Foundation is displaying handmade works from
Korea to give Vietnamese people an insight into some of the traditional cultural
features of Korean people.
The event is also sponsored by the ministry of tourism of the Republic of Korea,
the management department of Korean Cultural Heritage and Korean Cultural Center
in Vietnam.
The event called ‘The Hopes and Wishes’ features around 100 handicraft products
including dresses, shirts, hats, towels, stockings and decorative items, filled
with the value of intangible cultural heritage which the event aims to
introduce.
The items are typically used on important occasions such as birthdays and
weddings to express wishes of health, wealth, happiness and luck such as the
costume of a kid on his first birthday or a veil for a bride.
The event runs until September 13.
