Ship museum planned in Hoi An
Plans for a trading ships museum in the ancient
town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam have been made in
co-ordination with the province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and
Hoi An town.
People will have the chance to see ships and other seafaring memorabilia which
used to be a part of the atmosphere at the Faifoo trading port, giving them a
vision of the exciting activities at this popular 17th and 18th century port.
When finished, the 24,400sq.m museum is expected to contribute to the
introduction of Vietnamese culture and history in general and advertise Hoi An’s
image in particular to visitors.
