Vietnam, Japan join hands to bring Mid-autumn festival to children
A programme jointly organised by the Vietnam
Museum of Ethnology and the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in
Vietnam from September 25 to 27 will bring entertainment to Vietnamese children
in the Mid-Autumn festival this year.
Entitled “Mid-Autumn Festival 2009: Vietnamese - Japanese Cultural days”, the
event aim to give Vietnamese families and children a real meaningful festival
and a deeper understanding of Japanese and Vietnamese Mid-autumn festival.
Children joining the event will have a chance to participate in various exciting
and joyful games of Vietnam and Japan such as hopscotch, tug of war, stilt
walking, rope jumping and catch- the- child with singing and dancing.
Participants also have the opportunity to learn how to make Japanese traditional
fun-fan under the guidance of Japanese craftsmen as well as how to make
Vietnamese and Japanese traditional cuisine, including Moon cake, the
indispensable speciality of the Mid-Autumn festival.
Performances like dragon dances, water puppetry and Vietnamese and Japanese
traditional costumes show will also be given during the event.
All the events will take place for three days at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology
on Nguyen Van Huyen street, Hanoi. Of which, the September 25 is especially
organised for disabled children.
The exhibition and education programme for family and children about the Mid -
Autumn Festival and children days in Japan will also be organised and last until
November 1.
