Number of tourists to Vietnam sharply decreases
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in
coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism
held a conference titled “How to improve travel enterprises’ competition
capacity in global financial crisis” at Rex Hotel in HCMC on September 11th.
During the conference, representatives from the Center for Strategic Research
under the Asia-Pacific Tourism Association and several travel businesses from
other countries discussed various measures to popularise their marketing
strategies aimed at minimising the decrease in the number of tourists to the
Asian markets.
From the beginning of this year up to now, the number of tourists coming to
Asian countries in general and Vietnam in particular decreased by 20% compared
to the same period last year.
