Tourism sector aims to attract 22 million domestic tourists and 4.3 million foreigners

     The aim of the Tourism Sector in 2009 is to deploy its action plan ‘Impressive Vietnam’ in a drastic and effective manner in order to attract 22 million domestic tourists and 4.3 million foreigners. This is considered as an urgent and effective solution to the attraction of the international tourists to Vietnam in the context of the sharp fall in the tourism demand worldwide.
A group of long-term solutions towards the sustainable development of the Vietnam tourism sector will be deployed in 2009 such as the all-round implementation of the development of new tourist products, the intensification of the tourist promotional and advertising activities.
The progamme ‘Impressive Vietnam’ has received a positive response from the travel and transport businesses.
The businesses have developed tours earmarked for the international tourists from ASEAN, China, Japan, France – West Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
They have also offered a lot of different tours with popular prices to the domestic tourists.
According to the programme, the international and domestic tourists buying the package tours will receive the discounts of hotel rates and transport fares. The maximum discount level is up to 50%.
