Dong Nai Promoting Tourism of Rich Culture
Dong Nai province’s non-smoke industry has a
mission of associating tourism development with preserving cultural values,
which is also the demand by tourists, particularly foreigners.
Though Dong Nai has neither beautiful beaches nor ancient towns, the province
boasts high mountains and thick forests, immense waterways and diversified
cultural heritages. Foreign visitors are impressed by pagodas and temples with
typical architectures of particular areas, adventurous discoveries on nature and
history of Bien Hoa city, closely-fruited hicks as well as traditional crafts
products. However, Dong Nai had only focused on developing eco-tourism
regardless of culture-based tourism.
The most challenge faced by Dong Nai tourism sector is the absence of a typical
culture-based tourism development model to follow and provincial tourism
development strategies have not yet based on the community.
Experts suggested Dong Nai develop tourism on the basis of preserving and
developing traditional culture including historic relics, cultural heritages,
art architectures, festivals, and handcrafts. The province should also make
plans and draw out solutions to gradually restore traditional craft villages of
Phu Hoi carpenter, Thach Phu hat and cast-iron, buffalo stabbing festival of Ma
ethnic minority group, Sayangva of Che Ro ethnic minority group. In addition,
due attention should be paid to development of modern and adventurous tours to
tourism sites of Giang Dien, Buu Long, Cat Tien National Park, Ba Xe Isle, mango
farms, Suoi Tre tourism site, Long Thanh golf course, Phu Hoi fruit festival,
Tan Trieu grapefruit village, Dong Nai museum, and Dong Nai library.
Besides, the province should boost tourism promotion with focuses on associating
development of culture-based tourism with adventurous tours via mass media.
Provincial authorities should also actively coordinate with communication
agencies to boost provincial tourism promotion. Attention should be placed to
investment in tourism human resource by encouraging universities, colleges and
immediate schools to hold training courses on tourism professional. It is
essential to the province to enhance state management over tourism and build
tourism development strategies to take advantages of provincial culture-based
tourism potential in combination with developing ecotourism.
