Vietnam National Tourism Year 2010 to highlight nine programs

The Vietnam National Tourism Year 2010 in Hanoi, with the theme: “Thang Long – Hanoi, the 1000-Year Convergence” plans to highlight nine major programs, said the Hanoi Culture, Sport and Tourism Department on September 25th.
These programs include: the announcing ceremony of the national tourism year, improving the quality of tourism products, launching the movements: “Hanoians welcome guests” and “Green Tourism Year”, organizing the talented tourist guides competition, completing a number of tourism projects, organizing the Thang Long – Hanoi International Tourism Festival 2010, the Hanoi Gastronomy Festival, and recognizing national travel and service centers to welcome the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
Together with these programs, Hanoi will also coordinate with other local provinces and cities and foreign cities to organize more than 30 tourism programs coupled with culture and sport activities such as the flower city festival, the kite flying festival, advertising Vietnam’s destinations in China’s Beijing – Shanghai – Guang Zhou, and taking part in the Travex Fair on the edge of the Asia Tourism Forum in Brunei.
Numerous cultural programs and art performances are scheduled to take place in the opening ceremony of the national tourism year 2010 at Ly Thai To Flower Garden between October 9th and 11th, 2010.
