Authorities in Hoi An City in the central province
of Quang Nam have appointed HCMC-based Nha Viet Corp to develop a terra-cotta
park at Thanh Ha Ward in the center of the Thanh Ha pottery village.
Covering 6,500 square meters, the park will preserve and develop cultural values
and activities of the craft village. The park expects to host traditional craft
festivals and become a new attraction for tourists to the city.
Construction will commence later this year to be completed next year with a
total investment of VND18
billion. The park will boast five areas including a pottery reserve displaying
history of the craft village and related artifacts, an outdoor display area for
large pottery statues, a performance area for artisans to show their skills and
talents, a creation playground to host craft contests and a trade and service
promoting area.
