VIPs help attract travelers to Vietnam
The Tien River in the southern
province of Tien Giang, one the destinations in the Japanese Crown Prince
Naruhito’s trip to Vietnam, made a good impression on him and his entourage.
Tran Tien Dung from Saigontourist said that Saigontourist was assigned to serve
the delegation of over 60 persons who toured Tien River for one hour, from 11:00
am to 12:00 pm of February 14.
Touring the Tien River in a two-story yacht, witnessing the daily activities of
local residents, the Japanese Crown Prince, who once learned about water
transport, said that studying the Mekong water areas is one of his favorite
studies.
A lot of Japanese visitors recognized the Japanese Crown Prince, and greeted him
in the traditional way. Chairman of the Tien Giang People’s Committee Nguyen Huu
Chi said that the appearance of the Japanese Crown Prince in Cuu Long River
Delta will help attract more Japanese travelers to the area. The Japanese Crown
Prince said that he was very happy to help attract more travelers to the place.
Hoi An ancient town also had the chance to welcome the Japanese Crown Prince on
February 12.
In recent days, Vietnam also welcomed representatives from 12 travel firms and
press agencies in Europe, who arrived in Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese
travel firm Vietravel.
In the meeting with local press agencies on February 18, 2009 in HCM City, Hanke
Armin, Director of SUSA-Reisen GmbH, suggested that Vietnam needs to improve
road infrastructure and transport network in order to attract more foreign
travelers.
Meanwhile, Berghoff Jorg from German PRB– Presseburo, suggested that Vietnam
should have representative offices in Germany in order to introduce the
attractive destinations of Vietnam to German travelers.
Berghoff said that Vietnam has a long lasting culture and history which has
proven to attract him and other foreign travelers. He has also been impressed by
the places recognized by UNESCO as the world heritage sites, such as Hoi An, Hue
and Ha Long Bay.
He promised that when he returns to Germany, he will introduce a peaceful and
friendly Vietnam to the German people, and tell them about Vietnam’s beautiful
landscapes as well.
Hinse Uwe, Director of Schmitz Gruppenreise Weltweit, pointed out that the
airfare from Germany to Vietnam proves to be expensive if compared to the
flights from Germany to Thailand.
In order to attract more travelers to Vietnam, the road show, advertising
Vietnam’s tourism in Melbourne, Australia, organized by the HCM City Department
of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 25 big travel firms, took place on Feb 13-18.
